As Katherine spoke, she slowly pulled a dagger from the sleeve of her dress. My mother’s eyes widened in horror as she realized her sister's intentions.
“Katherine, what are you doing?” my mother asked, her voice trembling. She began to step backward, her back soon pressing against the wall.
Katherine took slow, deliberate steps toward her, the dagger held tightly in her grasp. "I'm finishing this once and for all," she said in a cold voice.
"Katherine, please," my mother pleaded, her voice breaking. "Think about what you're doing."
"Think?" Katherine spat, her eyes blazing with fury. "All my life, I've thought about this moment. You stole everything from me, everything!" She advanced further, her eyes never leaving my mother's face.
