As the car accelerated, the speedometer climbed higher and higher, the passing scenery a blur of colors outside the window. A wave of panic washed over me as I realized that Matteo was driving recklessly.
"Matteo, what's happening?" I asked, my voice trembling with worry as I watched him press down harder on the accelerator, causing the car to lurch forward with increasing speed.
But he didn't respond, his jaw clenched tightly as he focused on the road ahead. I placed a trembling hand on his arm, hoping to comfort him, but he brushed it away with a force that startled me.
"Matteo, please," I pleaded, the fear in my voice escalating with each passing moment. "You're scaring me. What's happening?"
