Chapter one hundred thirty seven

1218 Words

Asmodeus: I watched Kali walk around the house that once served as death's home. Her fingers skated the mantle, the black cloaks on the hook by the front door. She looked at pictures, at the equipment in the basement. “How did I never know this place existed?” The question was more for herself than for either of us. She was living in the moment, burning brightly, and Uriel and I were just bitter. Hatefulness had become the majority of our interactions, and I hated that Kali had to be a part of it. She must despise us for how we are toward one another… she had to lose both of us… and to see us with anger must hurt her in ways we couldn’t begin to comprehend. But I couldn’t just let it go. I wanted to choke him. I wanted to wake him up. All that rage would fade when I looked at him.
