CHAPTER TWENTY Luke found himself at a loss. He froze, watching Jocelyn cry. No, not just cry—sob. Ugly, heart-wrenching sobs. He didn’t know what to do. When he tried to ask her what was wrong, she just shook her head and kept crying. He sat down next to her and felt a little better when she let him put his arms around her. She buried her face in his shoulder as he made soothing sounds and rubbed her back. After what felt like forever, the crying subsided. Jocelyn eventually lifted her face, which was red and tearstained, and tried to wipe her cheeks. “Oh God, I got your shirt all wet,” she moaned. He’d barely noticed. “It’s a shirt.
