CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE
Luke arrived at the restaurant to find that Jocelyn wasn’t there. Jack stopped him from going back into the kitchen with a black look.
“What the hell are you doing here?” his friend demanded.
“Not that it’s any of your business, but I need to talk to my wife.”
Jack’s expression turned to one of confusion. “She’s leaving. Didn’t you know?”
“Leaving? What, she’s going on a trip?”
“No… She’s moving. She got a job in the Bay Area.”
Luke felt like his entire world was crashing down around him. “She’s leaving Hazel Island? The restaurant? Her dad? There’s no way. You must’ve heard wrong.”
“Well, she put in her notice with Gwen, so my source is pretty reliable.”
