I couldn’t sleep.
This was the third night in a row, I lay awake in my bed staring at the wall.
I reluctantly rolled over and picked up my phone.
I stare at the message Jessica sent just a few hours ago.
“Party this Saturday. My new place. You and David better come. Wouldn’t be the same without you two. XO.”
My jaw tightened.
The audacity of that woman. After everything, after the photos, the betrayal, she had the nerve to send me an invitation like we were still best friends.
