I froze after hearing a stranger calling me by my real name. Melina Cage.
They knew me. That would mean someone got to Kingsley before we did.
My brain spiraled into a fog. Not knowing what happened next.
The voices around me sounded muffled without me knowing what they were saying.
I could hear Sebastian calling me. I could hear Charles too. But my mind could not process what they said to me. It was as if I was pushed into a void where I stood alone.
“I have a message for you. Your days end now” that stranger said to me. I looked into his eyes as his eyes looked into mine.
I understood why he came to me. He was an assassin. One of those who were looking for me for the past eight years.
Seeing the gun pointed on my forehead, I knew my days would end. And I had fail
