Nina “Zorion?” I whispered dizzily, as voices mixed up in my ears, my senses confused and overwhelmed. A beam of light broke through the darkness of my closed eyes. His image formed in my mind. Just like in our dream, he looked pale, tired, half-alive. “Nina,” he murmured before sliding down the edge of the rock he stood on. “Zorion, please!” Running towards the edge, my startled eyes saw my mate falling down an abyss, a dark and bottomless pit. His eyes were filled with desperation and fixed on mine as he struggled to stop his own fall, frantically flailing his arms and legs.
