Nina’s hand grew even colder as she gaped at me.
The sound of something breaking filled my ears, attracting my attention to Hali. Her lilac eyes were wide open and she looked from her hand to the glass of water she had just dropped.
“I will get a cloth,” Hali whispered nervously before heading to the small trailer-kitchen. My worried eyes followed her, but Nina’s question brought my gaze back to her pale face.
“What?” she asked, looking intently at me. “Fallen, if you do that, you will feel like hell when I die. I-I can’t have you losing someone once again,” Nina murmured.
