Den emerged from the kitchen, holding a pot in his hand, when he noticed Alex approaching. The boiling pot immediately caught Alex's attention.
"What are you doing? What's in the pot?" Alex raised his eyebrows as he halted Den.
"I've discovered that James has been seriously injured, but he's been keeping it hidden from everyone. Cora secretly asked me to make this medicine for him. Since Beta William is around, she couldn't enter the kitchen on her own. She made me promise not to tell you or anyone else about it, so please act like you don't know anything," Den explained.
Alex took a deep breath, weariness evident in his expression. Both Den and Alex knew that James' injuries were more severe than they appeared. Beta William was a formidable opponent, more powerful than James himself.
