I pull away from him, my lips tingling slightly. His eyes are dark and he abruptly gets to his feet. My heart falls to the pit of my stomach and I am positive that this was all a facade. He never truly cared, he couldn't have. Shortly after, all those worries fly away when his face morphs into a heart shattering grin and reaches out a hand to help me from the floor. I return the smile as I take his hand, hoisting myself to my feet. As we start towards the door, I mistakenly allow my eyes to glance at the hardwood floor. My stomach churns and I empty the contents of it a few paces away from Stephanie's head. Placing my hands on my knees, I remain in my crouched position until a warm hand lands on my lower back. "You okay, sweetheart?" Alex whispers in my ear, rubbing my book soothingly.
