1368 Words
Tan My mind goes blank and my right arm goes hot, as something powerful sweeps through me, causing my whole body to tremble. I jump on the alien, gripping one if it’s arms as it attacks Hanika. It shifts it’s beady eyes from Hanika to me. I see the shock in it’s eyes. It didn’t expect me to attack. I ram my right fist into it’s face, using it’s momentary surprise to my advantage. Pain lashes through my arm at the impact. Damn…the damn thing is too strong. It’s arms retract into it’s shell and it spins hitting us with such force I slam into the opposite wall. I scramble to my feet, and charge it again. I wrap my arms around it’s shell holding on as it bucks and spin. I grow dizzy, but I can’t let go. My mission is to find it’s weakness. And the only way to don’t that is to be this close. It stops when I don’t let go. It extend it’s arms out to pull me away. I let go and drop to the ground, steadily observing the alien from the ground up. And I see it, it’s weakness. Well, I hope it is. But there is only one way to find out. “Do you want to die?” Hanika tries to push me out of the way, screaming at me to run. But I’m not going to run, not this time. She stands in between us, with her sword raised. The alien looks from me to Hanika. And I use that split second of distraction to my advantage. I shot up to my feet and grab for its neck with my hand. Just as I thought… it sinks into the shell evading my grip. That’s the weak spot or else it wouldn’t be protecting it like that. I charge it again, letting it wrap its arms around me, and they suddenly feel like the toughest metal. I scream enraged as they squeeze tight pushing air out if my lungs. It is trying to suffocate me. Where did that come from? I ask myself as push my right hand into the shell looking for the head. I grip what I can with my fingers and try to pull it out. The alien makes a strange sound and I looked down to see my hand glowing. Power surges through me, and I concentrate on it letting it slip out of me like a hosepipe pouring water. My fingers heat up against it’s skin. The alien makes a whimpering sound it’s arms loosening around me as it crumbles to the ground. I jumped back staring at it in shock because I don’t know what I just did. It wiggles on the ground as it tries to get back up on its feet. its head looks like it has been burnt by a very powerful torch. “Finish him off,” Hanika screams at me as she comes to stand next to struggling creature. Her sword releases a screeching sound, blood flows from her hand trails down the blade. But she doesn’t seem to feel any pain. “I don’t even know what I did. How can I finish it off?” I say looking down at my hand. It wasn’t glowing anymore. She stares at me for a second and then hacks into the shell of the alien. Her sword glows as the alien gasps its last breath. “You don’t leave one of these alive, because they will come after you in numbers and you won’t live to see another day once they’re doesn’t with you,” she says her eyes burning into mine. I resist the urge to fidget under her stare. Aggg…sometimes she is scare, I think to myself as I stare at her. Her hair flows behind her back like a dark cloud, adding to her lethal yet alluring look. “Let’s go,” she says already walking out off with the tower. We run all the way to the ship, where It hovers over the water. I look around us wondering where the rest of the aliens are. It is sounded like Hanika was fighting an army a few minutes ago. Did she kill them all? I asked myself as we run into the ship. The ship vibrates to life and lifts off as soon as we enter. We make our way all the way to the control station, where we know that Rhine will be waiting. “How did they know we were here?” Hanika asks Rhine as soon as we enter the room, her eyes shining murderously. “I thought we were being careful.” “We are,” Rhine says Wheeling himself too Hanika. They stare at each other for a minute. And it feels like another fight is about to break out. Damn…I wouldn’t know what to do if Hanika attacks Rhine. “They must have found a way to transmit information that we found him. Maybe the thebes who attacked him the first time found a way to send out a message to the rest of the aliens before you killed them.” Rhine says making sense. Those two red aliens did t*****e me for a few minutes before Hanika arrived. I touch my Chet’s where they zapped me with their beam. It still aches. “Now relax and let go,” Rhine says as he stared at Hanika's hand. She still has her sword gripped tight. Its flaming light looks hungry and lethal. I cringe as I stare at the blood that continues to flow from her hand. Damn she’s tough. “You’re not going to survive if you go on like this,” Rhine says. “He needs you in order for him to get to the level he needs to be in order to win the coming fight. And he’s not going to do that if you make dangerous decisions that can get you killed. If you die this will all be for nothing.” Hanika seems to deflate. She drops her sword to the ground. he whole body trembles. She looks like she's about to drop. “Oh no,” I say as she does drops. I moved to catch her before she hits the ground. “Damn it, we can't afford her being out of well that right now.” Rhine grumbles. “I told her not to push herself but she never listens to me. Come let’s take it to her room.” Rhine says wheeling out of the room. We walk down the hallway all the way to the other side of the ship. I haven’t explored this section when I was walking around. Doors line up on both sides of a very long hallway. It looks bare unlike the other parts of other ship. It’s almost like it was made for soldiers with minimal comfort. Rhine comes to a stop in front of the door and pushes it open. I walk inside and lower Hanika on the bed. Rhine and I back out of the room. Instead if going back where we came from he continues to wheel himself down hallway. He comes to a stop in front of another door at the end. “This is you,” he says pointing to the closed door. “It was master Gin's room. Get some rest. We will be getting out there soon.” Rhine says wheeling away. I stare at the door not sure I want to be in the master Gin’s room. I feel in competent already. But I won’t be any good to anyone if I am tired. I hold my breath and open the door.
