We sit there until night falls. The darkness comes, bring with it the bright stars up in the sky. I stare at how beautiful it is, and I know I will fight until my last breath to protect it.
Hanika and I run all way to the spot that Rhine picked us up. We find him waiting for us. We get into the s**t, and then make our way to the control room.
“You took forever to find it,” he commented as we walk in.
“No. We just waited for nightfall to call you to come and fetch us. We need you to do something. It’s above the sphinx,” I say.
“What?” Rhine asks turning to the keys in front of him. He punches a few, and the screen lights up showing the tops of the pyramids of Giza. From this height any lingering tourists can’t see us.
