Craig Caylee's face goes blank suddenly, as if she is here physically, but not mentally. "Caylee?" I call to her, but she doesn't move, doesn't even blink. "Baby, talk to me." I shake her slightly, but still she doesn't move. I try to pull on the mate bond, relieved to find it still intact. I start to worry and just as I am about to call Jackson, Caylee sucks in a breath and a tear slides down her cheek. "What the hell just happened?" I ask her, touching her face, her neck, her arms, trying to see if she is physically alright. "I knew your soul, I knew what it suffered. I saw it in your eyes and in the shake of your hands. I wanted to carry that burden for you. I wanted to be your light in the darkness, but it was not our time. At least, not yet." The words, those words are so familiar
