It was almost too good to be true. Everything was going good, almost too good. Gage was excelling in school, he even started dating someone. She seems like a good girl and he's happy. Axel has stuck around. I don't know why I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop but I'm taking it day by day. He has been perfect. Almost annoyingly perfect. He treats me like a queen, he takes me on dates, he treats my son as if he was his own, he even graduates from the police academy today. I couldn't even begin to explain how proud of him I was. The changes he's made since the first day he got here was like night and day. He still has his demons and lord knows I have mine, but we've been working on them together.
It also helps that he knows how to distract me best. He cracked the shell on me.
