I let out a frustrated groan, kicking at the ground beneath my feet as I watched Anoa disappear into the distance, into the darkness. I had no doubt in my mind that my feelings and frustration towards the current situation was more than well founded. Anyone who found themselves treated as I had just been treated would have found themselves turning over in a grave that was not even theirs. Truthfully, I could barely believe that Anoa had actually gone ahead and done this, that she had actually dared to leave me here. She, of all people, should know how long it would take me to get back to the palace, but knowing her, it is likely that that would have been exactly what she would have wanted—to be away from me for as long as possible. I didn’t know what was going on between the two of us.
