Julian was quiet for a moment. "Patricia's name appears in some of the documents," he said finally.
My eyes snapped open. "What do you mean?"
Julian turned the laptop toward me again, pointing to a scanned email.
"She was copied on several email chains," he explained. "Not all of them, but enough to suggest she knew more than she admitted yesterday."
I leaned forward and read the email he was pointing to, it was from Richard to Ethan's father, discussing contract terms and timeline, and there at the bottom, in the CC line, was Patricia's email address.
"She knew," I said, disbelief mixing with anger. "She sat across from me yesterday and acted like she was just finding out, but she knew."
