Damian found himself plunged in darkness.
This is the first thing that he recognized when his consciousness returned to him. He was drifting in what seems to be an infinite amount of darkness. His body seemingly too light to be submerged under it.
He was only half awake when this happened. He hasn’t even regained his full consciousness yet and, in fact, everything was just a big haze to him. But slowly, things began to make sense to him.
The darkness began to take shape and have colors. Damian began seeing the sky and the clouds and, as for the waters, he began hearing it. The familiar sound when the ears are submerged on water. This being accompanied by the smell of the sea.
