The Chinese investors were droning on about quarterly projections when my beautiful mate slipped into the office. My attention immediately shifted as Caroline locked the door behind her. She carried a tray with the chocolate pie I'd given her earlier and a steaming cup of tea. Damn, the mischievous glint in her eyes reminded me of what happened a few months ago with these same investors.
"You've got to be kidding me," Alaric growled appreciatively in my mind. "Our mate's feeling playful again."
