Seren I slumped back on the cot once I was sure Alpha Brian and his men had left the dungeon. My head was throbbing and the silver cuffs on my wrists burned slightly, but that was nothing compared to the full-body ache from whatever they had injected me with. I’d been conscious for hours. I came to in the car, but instincts honed over years of abuse at Blood Moon kicked in and I stayed quiet, acting like I was still out. They fell for it, but I didn’t pick up much information since the alpha slept for much of the ride. It did allow me to work on contacting Kara, though, which was critical for us both.
