Asher is going to kill me. That is, if Vince doesn't do it first. The truth is, I'm sick of playing this game with him. I just want it to be over. Maybe I'm not being smart by not only going along with Ashley, but also encouraging her and allowing it to happen when I know my cousin will freak.
She's right though. We can't wait for Asher to recover. That gives Vince plenty of time to plan his next move. Someone could be dead by then and I've had enough death for a lifetime.
"Why did you agree to come with me so fast? I mean, I guess I was expecting at least a little resistance from you," Ashley says.
It's the first time she's spoken since we left the hospital. I glance over at her and notice she's staring out the window. She doesn't seem afraid of what might happen
