The sudden shout pierced the air, and Martin was immediately on his feet, his eyes wide with alarm. “What was that?” he demanded, his voice rough with urgency as he rushed outside without another thought. His steps were quick and determined, his mind already racing through possibilities. Anthony, never one to hesitate, followed closely behind. There was no time to waste. Without sparing Carmela a glance, he darted past her, heading straight for the garden to find out who had shouted and why. His movements were swift and purposeful, his instincts telling him that something was terribly wrong. Carmela was left standing there in shock for a moment, trying to process the tension that had suddenly gripped the air. Her arms instinctively wrapped around Clarissa, pulling her daughter close.
