Anna jumped.
She'd been on her way to ask Arthur a question but just as she had reached out to touch the doorknob she heard her mate curse.
The sound of heavy footsteps soon filled the silence and Anna jumped back just in time to avoid being hit by the alpha opening the door.
Arthur blinked at her, surprised.
"Anna?"
"Oh, uh, hello." She responded meekly. "Everything okay?"
The alpha's expression darkened. "No," he grumbled, fury brewing, "my newest secretary quit on me. This is getting ridiculous. I was supposed to have this weekend off but now—…" Arthur sighed.
