Chapter 24
“Bass!” I sat up screaming at the top of my lungs. I grasp my neck in panic, drinking in the air frantically. It felt so real. I could still feel his hands on me. “Bass!”
The wind drastically picks up in my room until Bass emerges from the shadows looking alarmed. There’s twigs and leaves in his hair. Bass must have come far to get back to the Tree in a rush. He knelt in front of me with his face contorted with dread eyes inspecting every inch of my body. “What’s happened?”
I release my hand from my neck and Bass catches sight of it frowning heavily, he leans down to squint at my neck. Suddenly, he lets out a strangled powerful growl that shakes the walls.
