Chapter 19
Bass has not shown himself in three days. Lux and Blaze say it’s because of several attacks happening around the kingdom but somehow I know better. He’s distancing himself. Bass is understandably upset that I tried to run away. Yet, I know he’s close though. Several times, I can hear him outside my room sitting himself down by the door. It’s like he’s making sure I’m safe at night.
“A dark spirit attacked you.” Lux explained when Blaze took me out of the room to have breakfast. “It’s never safe to leave the tree at night.”
“It looked awful.” I say shivering at the memory of the horrid creature.
“It’s a shape shifter but unlike Blaze that changes himself in the most attractive way possible, these spirits change themselves to the scariest nightmare imaginable.” Lux gives hi
