Chapter 14 We arrive at the room that I wake up in at the very top of the tree. Bass opens the door wide but doesn’t go in right away. He motions between me and the door expectantly. I take this as my que to enter. It’s exactly how I left it. I now understand why the bed is so big and the ceiling so high. It was made for him which is at least four times bigger than my small frame.   He transforms back to his true form before coming in and closes the door behind him. “I’m not used to my human appearance. This is the first time I’ve changed in several decades.” Bass stretches his head from side to side his neck cracking every time. “There wasn’t much use for it.” He continues quietly.  I don’t know why but I prefer him in his true form.
