Ellie’s POV The night air clawed at my lungs as I ran. Roots kept snagging my ankles and the forest floor was slick with mist, but I didn’t stop. Behind me the witch-house tunnel yawned like a black throat I had finally escaped. I tasted iron blood from my split lip—when the ground suddenly tilted. A stone door stood ahead, carved with glowing blue symbols. Ethan’s scent wolf-sharp, mixed with a hint of ozone pulled me toward it. “Almost there,” I whispered and grabbed the cold iron ring of the door. The hinges groaned loud as I pushed it open.
