The room was quiet when I walked in. The silence made it feel even bigger than it already was. My shoulders were stiff, and my feet ached from the heels I had worn all evening.
I looked around the room slowly, my eyes landing on the bed I’d be sharing with Ethan. For a second, that made my stomach flutter, but I pushed the feeling down and sighed. Right now, all I wanted was a long, hot shower. Something to melt away the night. Something to help me forget everything.
