The sunlight streamed softly through the bedroom window, brushing against Liam’s face as he slept beside me. For the first time in months, I felt a deep, steady peace—not just relief, but completeness. His steady breathing, the warmth of his body, the faint rise and fall of his chest—it was grounding, comforting, intoxicating.
I turned to look at him, tracing the line of his jaw with my fingertips, marveling at how someone could feel so right, so safe, so utterly magnetic. Months of longing, stolen glances, slow-burn tension, and vulnerability had led us here. And I finally allowed myself to bask fully in it.
