I felt as if I was observing a moment that should have been private when Zaahra made eye contact with me. She looked desperate, but I felt no pity for her; she was distressed because she thought Ares was going to be angry at her, and she knew him well enough that she would only be so afraid if there was a good enough reason for it. “Tell me what you know.” It was a command this time - a tone that I was not used to hearing from Ares. “What did she tell you?” Zaahra pointed at me, and her finger was trembling slightly.
