When I approached the camp with Ares again in the evening I was feeling a lot less confident than I had been in the morning, but I was pleasantly surprised that Ares and Jayne had both been right; the deafening noise was not so impossible to live with anymore. It was easier to ignore, and people were far less interested in me now that I had been coming to the camp a little more often to drop things off. I ignored Zaahra, and Aleks - which was easier to do because they were both easy to pick out from the other voices and ignore.
