It had been a clear night when we settled down beside the fire, and there had not been any sign that the weather would turn. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky when I first lay down and looked up at the moon, but the distinctive smell that signaled an oncoming downpour had become impossible to ignore and I thought it might be better to give up on staying outside, no matter how much I was enjoying it. Morrigan was lost in her thoughts, and I thought it was important to allow her that time to reflect on our conversation.
