It was obvious that Ares was trying not to get too close to me; he had decided we should stay another night because he thought I would hold people back if we left now, and he had been careful not to get too close to me since that. I made a game of it as soon as I noticed; we were in a small tent intended for one person and every time I moved he would move to keep the distance between us.
