Caspian Ravenwood
"Get her awake, now!" I roared at Astrid, my voice echoing off the walls of the room. "What kind of healer are you if you can't even figure out what's wrong with me?" My anger and frustration boiled over.
Astrid had always been our family's trusted healer, and I'd relied on her expertise since I was just a little boy. Her failure to diagnose my condition or think of a functional way to heal me was unthinkable.
I glared at Astrid, demanding answers. "You've healed me countless times before. Why can't you fix this?"
"What don't I know? What's happening to me? I shouldn't even need you for a small scratch like this" When I saw the girl in the woods, she didn't seem like the type who had strength, she didn't even have her wolf. A wolfless wolf. I had originally wanted to scare her but when she touched my fur, I felt a complete stillness and then peace. If I knew she planned to act innocent so she could scratch me deep with her nails, I would have allowed Jacob to kill her instead of only knocking her over.
She didn't have any weapon on her when we searched, How did I not notice anything?
“I am the Alpha King! And this is just a small scratch compared to what I have endured. Yet, I keep bleeding but it's the fact that a little wolf dared to mark me that burns. I've faced battles that would break a lesser man, endured pain that would make others beg for mercy.”
“You need to have seen the way she looked at me, Astrid. Like she saw into my soul!”
“I'll make sure she knows the true meaning of the Alpha King's wrath."
Astrid immediately goes into full panic mode. And she is right to feel that way. I heard she brought the girl into my palace.
“You brought her into my palace” I growled at her. Because the more I think about it. The more angry I got.
She fell down to her face. I could see her body visibly shaking “My King, she is a distant cousin who lost her parents. She has no one. She is a mere child who has only known hardship. She has gone through a lot of animosities. She has no one to protect her and I had only hope to find a way to protect her by bringing her into the palace, my king. I swear to you, my King, I will do everything in my power to heal your wound and restore your strength. Please, I beg of you, have mercy on her. She is innocent, and her fate is in your hands.” Her words tumbled out in a desperate rush, her body shaking in fear.
“How dare you appeal for who tried to kill me. If you were not someone I trusted, I would have said you brought her here to start the job for you.” I could feel my anger coursing through my veins like fire. My muscles tensed beneath my skin.
“Oh, my king!" Astrid cried out, falling to her knees before me. "On my life, I swear I would never harm you! I am deeply insulted that you would doubt my loyalty. If you don't believe me, kill me here and now. I'd rather die than live with your mistrust."
I gazed down at her “You wish you risk your life for her own?” I asked, my voice firm, Astrid has not been the one to interfere with anyone‘s problem who wasn't worth interfering with. Her devotion is what I know so well. She once used her mouth to remove a toxin from my system when she knew there was a seventy percent chance the toxins could transfer into her body.
“It is you who I risk my life for. I will not accept your accusations, my king” She raised her head, her eyes looking up at me, and for a moment, I saw the weight of her years bearing down on her. The lines on her face seemed to deepen as if she had aged a decade in an instant.
"Stand up, Astrid," I said softly, trying to temper my voice with kindness. "And fetch the girl." My guards stood at attention, awaiting my orders, but I wanted to ensure that Astrid's cousin was brought before me unharmed and prepared to speak. She is still going to get punished what what she did to me.
Astrid's eyes met mine, and I saw gratitude there. "Thank you, Alpha Caspian," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. She rose to her feet, slowly turned away, and left”
I called two of my maids to go with Astrid, of even for a while she tried to lie to protect her distance cousin.

Namiko’s POV
When I'm finally dragged to my destination and the door is closed shut, I looked back towards the entrance to confirm if the healer decided last minute she was going to follow me here but I know she wasn't coming. She has left me to my fate.
When I pulled my attention back to the two maids, they had left the room. Other people have joined, both men and women. I can count three women and two men. A man stood in the far corner of the large room with his back turned to me so I can't see his face properly. And I feel completely alone. Funny how I have never not been alone in my entire life. The irony of how my life have turned.
I can barely make out his features but from
the size of him, his height and the way his powerful presence filled the entire room, the large build of his body, I know he is the Alpha King. He really does not need any introduction.
He turned to face me and he starts moving toward where I stood. His steps are calculated and slow, radiating royalty and class.
The air seems to freeze in his presence, I practically forgot how to breathe. He stops in front of me, When I finally meet his eves. I'm shocked and speechless. He is far more handsome than I have heard in rumors, this man will make the mightiest men hide in fear and the prettiest women swoon.
The ruler of all smaller packs himself, the alpha king.
It's crazy seeing him here. In front of me. I don't even know his name properly. And how could I be accused of poisoning this mighty man? How could I even pull it off?
“I know you don't know me but please believe me when I say this, there is no way I could have poisoned you. I have never met you before. Never in my life. I mean it’s just common sense, How could I have?” A gasp erupted behind me and I know they want me to keep my mouth shut.
But they are not the ones who are going to get killed by the Alpha kind. I might as well just say what I want to say. I face the death penalty either way, there is no need to be afraid of anything.
“I see you are not remorseful” He finally spoke, his voice rang with delight. And after everything I went through, I shouldn't find any man’s voice appealing. I should run far away from them. Men are wicked and selfish. But I don't find myself afraid of this man in that kind of way.
“How could I feel remorse, Alpha, if I have done nothing wrong?” I looked for at him as he moved closer to me. Too close for my liking.
But it was only when he touched me my chin, forcing me to look into his eyes that I understood what they had all been saying!! What they had been accusing me of. Oh my God!
I started to shake my head vehemently, “No, No, I promise you. I didn't do anything to you. I was scared”
“Oh, so you remember!” He replies, “And you still choose to deny your actions, when there is evidence of it?”
I tried to call to the ground but his hand holding my chin would not let me.
“Let me see the wound, please?” He looked at me as if contemplating if he should accept my request or just kill me on the spot. After a few seconds, he released my chin and pulled off his shirt.
And pulled off his shirt. . . He has a series of black ink across his back towards his upper chest, he looked ripped and solid all over, and his shirt was doing the most covering all the juiciness, I began to feel hot towards this man. But I don't like the feeling. I never felt this hotness towards Ethan for a little bit.
“We will stop staring and check what you asked for?” I took my gaze back to his face and then to his shoulder. The wound is definitely deep It is unbelievable that I had caused it and definitely too small for the alpha king not to heal from it.
“It is strange to me” I start to say. I turned my back and pulled up my shirt so he could look at some of the injury I sustained on my way here.
The maid began to move toward me until they were sure I was not about to pull off my shirt like their Alpha.
“I won’t heal too” I declared and faced him again.
“Hmm, progress” He literally murmured. “You must have transfered something into my bloodstream when you cut me. I need answers. Why can’t you heal? I feel your wolf, although very subtle, but I feel your wolf. So tell me why?” I can see that even if he is trying so hard to mince his words, it is not something he is used to doing.
“I don't know, sir. I have never questioned it” That is a lie. I have always questioned myself and wondered why. “So, I don't have the answers” Because I really do not have the answers to why I am the way I am, why nobody likes me and why I am always finding myself in troubles.
“I do not care if you have questioned it or not. Find me a solution” He says to me, then turns to one of the men in the room “Jacob, lock her up in the dungeon until she is ready to talk”
“Wait! What if I don't remember anything? You are just going to kill me” I said in a desperate voice. He is going to forget me there. He is going to find solutions but he will still forget me there. No one will remember me.
If it's like that in my small pack, I imagine how it's going to be here.
“You are going to die anyway,” He said and strolled out of the room.
Before I could say any more words to beg my situation. The Jacob guy carried me out of the room and just like the alpha king had commanded, he dropped me in the dungeon, locked the keys, and gave me a parting sentence “If you value your life, you better start thinking”
