Introduction
These stories have led me in a circle. I never know quite why this happens.
Sometimes, like my Delta Force and Night Stalkers stories, they just keep leading me on. Others, like my three firefighting short story series: Hotshots, Fire Lookouts, and Firebirds, I’m led full circle in a set of five stories. Occasionally, I’m fooled into thinking I’ve written all of a world that I intend to, but another story (sometimes years later) will raise its hand and begin calling for words to be put on the page.
For the moment at least, it feels as if this circle of tales is complete.
The fifth (and last?) story in my US Coast Guard series came about from my desire to return to multiple threads from the earlier stories.
