Malthe’s hold on my hand tightened. My hand flew to my mouth as I covered a gasp that escaped. The doctor moved a wand a bit lower down my belly. Two little distant sounds poured out the speakers in the small room, the images on the screen moved.
“Congratulations Mr Andersen, you and your fiancée are having twins. And they are two healthy bean sprouts!” she remarked moving the wand around my belly. My eyes were glued to the screen as I watched with awe, two little lives that were growing inside me. The soft drumming of their heartbeats made the most beautiful sounds I’ve ever heard in my entire life. There was nothing like it. It was too good to be true.
