Five days passed calmly around them. They’d spent their days as a family, trying to spend as much time together and resting before they headed to Red River, New Mexico where Gabe’s satellite tracker pinpointed them. They’d been there for a couple of days. Hacking into the local cameras, they saw surveillance of Andrew Ivanson, Malcolm, and also a redheaded woman they couldn’t quite make out but to Maya, she looked oddly familiar.
Kissing the kids goodbye, Maya wanted so desperately to stay with them. But she knew once The Sun was gone for good, they would be happy and safe once again. “I love you both so, so much! And behave yourselves; don’t give nana a hard time.”
