She Twitched!!

"Amanda what are you doing here?" Dad asked in surprise the moment we got to into the room Aunt Perrie was admitted "Dad I..." I stuttered and looked towards Perrie now lying eyes tightly shot on the bed with an oxygen pipe connected to her nostrils. "Edwards you have to calm down she already told me everything. I actually went outside to see her sitting in the terrace house just before the gate so I asked her to come with me" Doctor Henry said solemnly "Dad I'm sorry I just wanted to tag along to see how things would go" I said now with my glued to the floor with guilt. "It's ok. And she will be fine. Now come here and sit down" Dad said reassuringly, making space for me to sit on the seat beside the wall. "Doctor are you sure she will be fine?" I asked peering at Doctor Henry as I sat down "Yes dear the damage wasn't much. You don't have to worry she will be up in a few hours." Doctor Henry replied " Ok sir" I replied, nibbling with the hem of my skirt. " Alright then Edwards. I'll be going back to my office please do inform me whenever she regains consciousness and of course I'll send you the test results the moment I get them" Doctor Henry said and started for the door "Alright man. Thank you so much Bro, I owe you alot. What would I have done without you"Dad said with a tone full of gratitude and respect "I've told you this on several occasions. Bro we are family ok? I'm not doing you a favor. I'm rendering help to myself here" Doctor Henry said with a smile while Dad shrugged his shoulders "Well see you soon Amanda dear. Bye" Doctor Henry said and walked away After Doctor Henry left, Dad walked over to the other side of the room and opened up the shutters and immediately the room began to beam with radiant light from the sun. And after exhaling deeply he asked, "How come you followed me up to this place and I didn't know?" "Huh!" I exclaimed not sure I heard him right because my attention was focused on Perrie's chest that was rising and falling at a very slow pace. "Don't worry dear. The Doctor assured me that she will be fine. She is actually in this state as a result of the shock she got from the slap" Dad explained soothingly " Ok Dad" I replied still fretted " So what did you say earlier on Dad?" I asked now peering intently at Dad " I said how did you manage to follow me down to this place without me knowing? Dad asked "Well It's supposed to be a secret so I'm not going to tell you" I said with a grin "Oh seriously Amanda. You want to begin your silly attitude here as well?" Dad asked with raised brow " Umm...Nah I'm not planning on doing a thing like that. Besides we are in a hospital" I gabbled wittingly "Wow. That's nice of you my princess. Now tell Daddy the secret" Dad said "Hold on I'm going to tell you but not so fast" I said pouting my lips "Common psycho tell me already" Dad urged pleadingly "Ok I'll tell you after the count of 5. Ready?" I asked with a smile " Sure let's go on." Dad said "1...2..." We both counted till we got to five " You happy now huh?" Dad teased and walked towards me and sat down on the seat "Now tell me or lest I screw you" Dad threatened with a calm voice " Wow. Are you threatening me Dad. Jeez I can't believe my ears" I said and chuckled while Dad laughed out loud. Well I'm glad I could finally get him to calm down unlike few minutes ago when we walked in and met him all dazed and clothed with worry. He must have been so worried to have seen Perrie in this condition. Even though i have never seen Dad this enraged, I could tell he did all of that on impulse. He wouldn't have done that perhaps if only Perrie would have kept shut and not taunt him with demeaning words and insults. The man I call Dad could be anything but not necessarily a monster. Was that even true? I'm not sure. But he was never a monster to anyone in my presence. And then it crystal clear just like Mum said, he may probably have done all those despicable things to her afterall, her and Perrie can't be all wrong this time. I guess she could probably be right but then she has to be blamed for all that has happened to her. "Dad!" I called softly "Yes dear" Dad replied with a weary smile "I want you to know that no matter what happens. I'll always be here and I love you so very much" I said " Thank you my princess and I love you too" Dad said, looking at me "But it still doesn't justify you refusing to tell me your secret" Dad said sarcastically "Common Dad. I thought you have forgotten about that already" I said "Well sorry to burst your bubble, I haven't" He said subtly " Really?!" I asked " Yeah, please keep your voice low. I don't want us to attract unnecessary attention and besides I don't want us to disturb her" Dad said stealthily pointing towards Perrie's sick- bed. "Oh true... I totally forgot" I said admittedly "I know but it's ok. It wasn't on purpose afterall" Dad cooed in a sober tone " Yeah. So why are you so keen on knowing the secret?" I asked peering at him " Nothing really" Dad replied casually "Nothing really?" I retorted "Yeah. Nothing." He said " Are you sure?" I asked looking away "Well yes probably because its a secret or I'm just being curious as usual" Dad replied " Oh I see. Well in that case I've have changed my mind" i blurted out " Huh. Changed your mind about what?" Dad asked in surprise " Well about telling you my secret." I said stealthily " Wow really?. Why did you change your mind? " Dad asked, chuckling " Well at first I wanted to tell you that secret of mine but after listening to you talk about your reason for wanting to know it, I had to change my mind" I said with a smirk " Really. Don't you find that ridiculous?" Dad asked, snorting " No I don't. Is it so funny? " I asked staring at him in amazement " Of course it is my dear. Just go ahead and tell me already. I'm tired" Dad said " Ok. Before we start let us pray." I said, bowing down my head in prayer " Jeez Amanda. Which are you, a nun or a monk? So I can decide what to classify you as" Dad said " Really? Do I have to be a nun or monk to at least pray? " I retorted " Certainly not but you have to answer me because the last time I checked, nuns live in the monastery and not in a home. And as for the monks they definitely don't stay at home as well they do probably be wandering about in the wild. So which of them are you? " Dad asked solemnly. " Probably a monk because I'm as wild as the monkey" I said laughing out hysterically " Wow I'm glad you know that." I replied "Yeah..." I stuttered and paused, as I saw Perrie twitched "Dad look over there" I said pointing towards Perrie's sick- bed " Yes and what happened to her?" Dad asked still not getting what I meant " I think I saw her twitch just now" I said "You don't mean. Are you serious?" Dad asked as his eyes lightened up with joy "Yes Dad. I saw her legs shake" I replied confidently " I really hope it's true. That's a great sign that she is responding well to treatment and she will soon regain consciousness" Dad explained softly like a consultant on a clinical rotation "Well that's great news." I said subtly "Yeah. She will soon be up. I'm sure about that" He added then we both continued discussing about random things till it was half past noon __ "Don't tell me she is still unconscious" Doctor Henry said, taking Perrie's hand and feeling her pulse "Yeah sadly she is" Dad replied weakly. We did have talked till I didn't realize when I fell asleep and had only jerked off when Doctor Henry walked in "That's bad. She should be up by now. It's five hours already since I gave her those injections" Doctor Henry said, after heaving a long sigh. "Well actually according to Amanda, she said she saw her leg twitch some hours ago" Dad muttered " Amanda is that true?" Doctor Henry asked " Yes Sir. I saw her twitch her legs when Dad and I were talking before I fell asleep " I explained with sleepy eyes " Well that may just be her reaction to the injection not necessarily a sign of recovery but her pulse rate have increased at least that's enough for us to hope for her recovery" He added " So what do we do about it now?" Dad asked helplessly " Well there is nothing we can do about it now as we speak. But if after a couple hours she still hasn't gain consciousness, I'll then plan on what to do"Doctor Henry said "It was just a mere slap why will it degenerate to something as complicated as this" Dad said all panicky " Well just calm down Edwards. She will be fine. Body systems vary from person to person. Ok? . The time it may take for a drug to work in your system differs from another person's. " Doctor Henry explained " But don't worry she will be fine. Let's all just be patient and wait" He added with a smile " Ok if you say" Dad replied absentmindedly "By the way, the test results are ready. Do you want to see them now?" Doctor Henry asked peering at Dad "Yeah I would love to" Dad replied, casually "Ok it's in my office so lets go over to my office then." Doctor Henry said stealthily "Ok." Dad cooed and stood up and they both headed for the door "Look there!" I yelled, pointing towards her direction as I saw Perrie twitch again "What happened?" They both asked in unison after turning to face me. "I saw her shake her body again just now." I explained softly " Are you sure?" Doctor Henry said walking back into the room "Yes sir" I replied while Doctor Henry walked to her bedside and examined her closely again "Don't pay attention to Amanda have said she can be funny a times Probably she didn't see anything like that" Dad whined while Doctor Henry kept examining Perrie's body "Dad I'm not lying. I'm saying the truth. I saw her shake her body just now ." I said defensively " Oh really?" Dad asked " Yes" I replied " Then go and show us the part of her body that did shake" Dad said " Well I can't really recall but i saw her body shake" I stuttered " Which part exactly?" Dad asked peering at me " Somewhere here" I said pointing at her upper abdomen " Well even though I'm trying real hard to believe you, I just can't seem to understand at all" Dad said softly " Edwards she is saying the truth. From what I just noticed, her body actually twitched and I'm now confident that she will soon be probably in a few minutes time" Doctor Henry said. " Wow that's finally some good news." Dad said happily " Yeah of course so let's quickly go get the results and then return quickly" Doctor Henry said " Ok then" Dad said and they both began to walk away "Can I come with you guys?" I asked with pouted lips as they got to the door. "You want to come along too?" Doctor Henry asked turning to face me "Yes sir" I replied excitedly while he looked at Dad for approval "Sure you can come dear even though I would love to have you keep an eye on her for me just in case she regains consciousness before we come back but then you don't even know Doctor Henry's office so you won't be able to come tell us" Dad said and they both walked out while I trailed them from behind "Please pardon my bad manners. You can have your seats" Doctor Henry said as we walked in to his office. "Thank you" I replied before sitting down "You are welcome dear" Doctor Henry replied then brought out a folder from his cabinet, peered intently at it for some seconds before dropping it on the table. "What is that Dad?" I asked curiously looking at the folder on the table " What did you say?" Doctor Henry asked looking up "What? I didn't say anything. I mean I wasn't talking to you sir" I stuttered " Ok dear. Here are the test results Edwards" Doctor Henry said, picking up the folder on the table and then gave it to Dad "So from the tests conducted, we realized that she is 6 weeks gone" He said stealthily "Six weeks gone?" Dad asked quite confused "Yes she is six weeks pregnant. She didn't tell you?" Doctor Henry asked peering at him " Well I guess this is my first time of me officially hearing of this" Dad said calmly It was now obvious that Perrie wasn't lying in the first place but then could the pregnancy really belong to Dad? If he isn't then who is to be held responsible? Did mum in any way get a hinge sight of what was to happen? Was this the reason why Mum left us for good? These and many more questions kept racing in my head as I sat quietly in the office. "And as for the other test, it was discovered that she has been stressed out lately and the slap actually triggered the blackout but fortunately, no harm was done to her and the baby" He added with a smile while Dad looked on without batting an eye lid. "Well that is much better at least they are both safe." Dad said absentmindedly after much hesitation " Yeah and that is the most important thing" Doctor Henry added " You just have to be careful next time. Just handle her with care" He said. " I will Bro. Thank you" Dad said "You are welcome." He said " You can now go back to her I'll join you guys in a few moments" Doctor Henry said and with that we walked back to Perrie's room in silence. "Are you hungry?" Dad asked the moment we got into the room " No. Just a little bit though but why do you ask? " I retorted "That's because of your sudden quietness. Should we go home? " Dad asked "Home? To do what exactly? " I asked in shock "To grab some food of course or aren't you hungry anymore?" Dad asked peering at me " Of course not Dad but we can't just leave for home" I said " Why? Who even said so?" Dad asked glaring at me "Nobody did say so Dad. I'm just worried about Perrie. I mean we can't just leave her all alone. That would be cruel of us to do so"I said softly " And who is talking about being wicked or cruel here my dear? " Dad asked " No one sir I'm just concerned about her. We can probably order something or think of anything but going home now isn't any option" I said " Can you just shut up and hear me out" Dad commanded " Ok sir. I'm listening" I replied "Now we aren't leaving her here. I mean we won't stay long. I simply need to go get somethings as well then we will return back here. " Dad said " Can't you put a call across to Aunt Mena to get those things and send them to you here" I said, more of a suggestion. " Wow perfect. I never knew you had brains" Dad teased "Of course I do Dad." I replied with a smile " Wow that's excellent" Dad said "So where is her phone?" Dad asked peering at me "Oops... I never thought of that" I said in shock " So you see that's why I said we should go home. Because I have thought about it and realized that there is just no way to go about this but to go home myself" Dad said " Yeah. I see your point now but then I think it's time you already bought Aunt Mena a phone. What do you think? " I said thoughtfully " Well Mena works for me and you right?." Dad asked " Yes Sir" I replied looking at him strangely "And she will be paid for the job by the end of every month right? " Dad asked further " Yes sir. She will be paid by you" I replied "Very good. Now don't you think that if she really needs a phone, she should take some money out of it and buy herself a phone or better still safe for it if the money won't be able to buy her one. " Dad said stealthily beaming with smiles " Really Dad? but you haven't paid her yet. " I retorted irked by his response " Yes that maybe true but I don't also owe her a phone" Dad said stealthily " Common Daddy please get her a phone." I said pleadingly while Dad laughed and began to walk away
