After a busy day I was finally at the comfort of the back seat of a cab. The gift box was still on my lap, the plan to wait for his call had gone entirely bad because he hadn't called and just like that, the urge to know what gift he had gotten me went through the window. But seated there I remembered my words...he was to call me if he found some time and if not I was to call him. My phone was just another burden if I wasn't talking to either my parents or Kai and I had talked to my parents already so it was just Kai.
He picked up on the third ring.
"Hi are you busy?"
"No...I mean yes I have had meetings all day. Just jumped out to grab lunch with Ava then went back to working, sorry I should have let you know"
"Slow down there, it's okay. I should go just wanted to check on you
