Just as I picked up the note, I heard a thunderous voice echo from behind me. “Is this how the employees behave here? Receiving romantic gifts at the workplace?”
I instinctively dropped the note back on the desk and turned around to look at Landon.
All eyes were already fixed on me.
I felt so embarrassed.
Just as I opened my mouth to respond, he cut me off. “Trash those things and focus on your work. And next time, tell your little boyfriend to send roses over to your house instead of your workplace.”
My chest tightened and I blinked in disbelief. I knew he didn’t want other people at the office to know that we slept with each other but I never expected him to act so cold and mean towards me.
