I shrieked as the toxic cocktail of liquid wolfsbane and silver flooded my veins. Even though I was tragically used to the poison, the burning agony felt like liquid fire melting my cells from the inside out. Inside my mind, Lillian let out a faint, dying whimper before going entirely silent.
"You think you can just walk in here and take what is mine?" Kendra’s laugh was completely wicked as she reached for a heavy leather whip imbedded with jagged silver spikes. My stomach dropped, the blood turning to ice in my veins.
"No one takes what belongs to me!" she screamed, bringing the whip down with terrifying force across my back.
