Third Person POV Her mother was pregnant again. Sadie couldn't believe it. She wanted to scream at her father, but it wouldn't do any good. Why did her mother put up with this? Why did she allow him to do this to her? Her mother's eyes had dark circles beneath them and her smile was fixed firmly in place, a fake one that nobody seemed to see, besides her daughter who looked beneath the surface, to see the sadness and the grief of the woman underneath. Sadie was helping to hang up the washing outside, the wind creating a gentle breeze that would help to dry the clothes quickly. She could have used her powers and dried them in an instant, but Deidre had forbidden her to do that.
