It took until winter came for Ryder to be able to sneak off. She did it during a large-scale attack on the encampment. There were many vampires coming across the battlefield on this particular night. It was winter and bitterly cold. There was less food about for the vamps, and they looked at the wolfen war camp as a buffet.
She knew many were going to die out there tonight, and she was hoping some of them were the sick bastards that needed killing, and it was one of those very rare times when nearly everyone in the camp was in the battle that was raging, and she knew it would be long and messy, because there were over a hundred vampires out there tonight.
It would take anywhere from four to six fully trained wolves to bring just one down on a normal day, but more than half of this camp
