CHAPTER FIFTY-SIX
I stare into the wisps of the steamy air escaping the hot cup of coffee and disappearing into the air. Why couldn’t I just take a break from my life and disappear like that?
“It’s a pretty night, huh?” Ian broke the silence, his gaze pinned on the star-filled night. It was still early and as much as I was still waiting for Lucian’s call, I couldn’t help but feel a certain shift in my body over being with Ian like this. It was like a mixture of comfort and calmness. It was almost like a promise of peace in the midst of the chaotic life my world had become.
“Yeah,” he tore his gaze away from the window, turning his attention to me. Damn! His sea-green eyes had always been pretty. Wait, why was I getting drawn to his eyes suddenly? I shook the thoughts out of my head.
