CHAPTER THIRTY SIX I’d waited the whole day, hoping he’d say something but instead, he’d kept quiet and avoided me like a plague. Yesterday, he’d come in at around five in the morning with Chase but he hadn’t sounded angry. I had slept with Peggy and Amber in the same room but the two had passed out as soon as they touched the bed.
