Elena “Elena” My name cracked through the silence like a shattering glass. I froze. My heart jolted so violently it hurt, my lungs forgot how to work. I had spent the past five years preparing for the possibility of seeing him again, convincing myself that when it happens I’d be prepared. I wasn't.
