Erik momentarily paused to think about what he’d done. What was he saying before she acted like this? He tried very hard to recall. Words that don’t mean much to him, but could apparently hurt her.
After moving down a stairway to the floor where their quarters are located, Erik pulled her back again.
“Please, prince. This isn’t appropriate. You should properly conduct yourself. To be seen with me, what would your people say?” She pulled away without looking at him but his grip was strong.
He narrowed his eyes at the way she’s acting.
Erik frowned, “How did it suddenly became an issue with my people? What’s up with prince?”
It dawned on him that she’s distancing herself from him.
