LARA’S POV
There was one logical thing that I had to do after knowing that Vain knew about my whole situation—it was to read more about the alchemy that the people of the North Kingdom are capable of. Now, I am no genius to understand it all at once, but knowing how it is deeply connected to Vain is everything that I need.
After the conversation we had, I did my best to return back to the normal flow of my work. It was not easy but I pulled through it all and asked my manager that I would be leaving work for a while. I thought I would need to think of a lengthy, valid excuse why I would need rest, but, to my surprise, she simply booked everything that I needed and to move back all of my schedules.
Here I am now in my late mother’s vast library reading all the materials that I can find;
