"HALEY!" I screamed, feeling utterly helpless as she fell to the ground in a heap. The force in which Chase had hit her, was enough to take down a full-grown man. If Haley lived after this, who knows what the consequences she would have to live with would be.
"I told you I preferred my woman silent. You should've listened." Chase spat.
I fell to my knees, quickly reaching Haley. I pulled her into my lap, checking for signs of life. When I felt a subtle, but noticeable heartbeat, I sighed in relief.
"You could've killed her!" I shouted, gently setting her back on the ground to stand before Chase.
"And you think I care? She's not all that. I've had far better. Plus she needs to learn when to be silent." Chase replied, rolling his eyes.
