I laid under a tree and pulled the quilt over me as the sun rose. I don’t know exactly how long I slept, but I’m sure it’s afternoon now. I had grabbed a few snacks just in case, and I’m so thankful I did. They won’t last long, but it’s good for now. I don’t know how long I can get away with staying here, so I need to figure out what I’m going to do. Right now, though, it feels so good just to be free. I pull the tie out of my hair and release my braid. I run my fingers through it, shaking my hair about. Goddess, it feels so damn good. I sit on the ground and lean against the tree.
